Q: Describe your work in three words.
Luxe, Ethereal, and Meaningful
Q: What gets you excited to wake up each day?
Knowing that I have another day to create and do my best.
Q: How do you stay inspired?
By being creative actively. I have noticed that when I stop, it can be really hard to get motivated to complete a project or find inspiration for a new one. But once I get over that initial hump, working will spark inspiration for current and new work. Also, I am inspired by nature, specifically flowers. They are so complex yet simple. The design is so flawless and every part serves a purpose.
Q: What has been the most challenging aspect of your work and how do approach it?
Keeping everything cohesive across all three fields can be challenging, but it just makes me want to work that much harder to get it right. It’s a good challenge to have. Trying to be sustainable and affordable sometimes doesn’t go hand in hand, so that has also been quite a challenge.
Q: How does consciousness play a role in your business?
Knowing that textile percentages are rising in landfills, the effects of fast fashion, and how being sustainable is a must now, is something that was integrated into the company from the beginning. So using paper till there is no longer any room to write anything, finding eco-friendly materials, being conscious of our electrical use, recycling-- It’s all a part of Studio FIG’s DNA.
Q: If you could offer advice to yourself one year ago regarding your entrepreneurial journey, what would it be?
Be patient, and don’t be so hard on myself.
Q: Are you seeking collaboration right now?
Yes, we are always open to them!
Q: What’s coming up for you?
We are in the process of releasing our first DIY for our customers, and we are gearing up for a fall release, so warm weather, holiday stationery and décor, and so much more!
